Rule No. 121:avoid foolhardiness, do not attempt to match four or six opponents at once.

adjective,   fool·har·di·er,   fool·har·di·est. recklessly   or   thoughtlessly   bold;   foolishly   rash   or   venturesome. Okay, not too sure if I'm liking this one but it does come from a 14th century German fencing master.   They dont seem to have too much information on this guy other than writings from other masters and scholars, which makes me wonder a little.  I do believe you shouldn't be reckless but at the same time if four or six people come at you, you should give it your best shot and until someone breaks a bottle you should fight back! Maybe I'm speaking out of turn here because we had a similar situation but I had serious family back up. So we took them all on. I think i just missed the whole point of the rule, but I think it's silly, so maybe thats why. The thing is, if someone comes to attack you, nine times out of ten your adrenalin is going to kick in and instinct is going to tell you to fight back. Moving on...

Rule No. 120: As long as you live, keep learning how to live

At first glance this rule by Senaca seems like a typical cliche quote but there is actually a lot to it. Sometimes we will think to ourselves, surely there is nothing more I can learn. I have taken in what I need and am surviving just fine on it. Now imagine if you took what you have learnt in life, from mistakes you've made, advise you have received, knowledge soaked up from our teachers in school, work colleagues and friends and you approach each day with the open mind and heart that allows you to take in even more. Lessons on life and for life will never go out of fashion, even if you think you have it all, you really don't.  Next time you wake up and think you have figured out life and how to live it, think again. Each day a new chapter is added, so don't forget or put off reading it.  Keep on learning . Begin at once to live, and count each separate day as a separate life. Seneca  (4 BC - 65 AD)

Collect memories, not things...

A new year, a new attitude and new adventures!  I'm sorry I have been so quiet lately, things have been a little, well, crazy. I hope everyone had a beautiful start to their year and that you are as excited about 2013 as I am. For as long as I can remember I have known that this is my year. I'm not sure why, the number 13 isn't particularly special in anyway to me. I think I just know, no matter what, my priority this year is to make my heart smile or as Ketut says:  "Smile with face, smile with mind, and good energy will come to you and clear away dirty energy. Even smile in your liver."  Granted, it will take my liver a little longer to smile after the massive amount of pressure I have given it over the years. Not a happy little organ this one. But I can start with my heart. I like to think that this one can heal faster if given the right tools. My Mom has always said: "no-one ever died of a broken heart." Although I think most of us that have
