"Don't leave the house without lipstick, you never know who you might bump into."
"Moisturize"
"Keep your chin up and your nose clean"
"You can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar'
These are the kinds of words of advice we get from our Gran's. The kind that you don't ask for but just get. Now I am going to get all soppy on you. I never got to meet my Dad's mom, and my Mom's mom passed away when I was 16, and I have always felt robbed of that. There is something about becoming a gran that they suddenly have all the answers to all the questions in the world and they just have an amazing way of comforting you and make things seem as though everything will be fine.
I have so many questions I would want to ask my Gran's. One of them though, is to ask my Gran why she smoked cigarettes called Life? hehe. No seriously, I know I could have learnt so much from them and often wish that I had just a day with them.
So if you are lucky enough to still have your Gran's, don't take them for granted and make sure you let them know how much you appreciate them. Oh, and ask them to share their wisdom with you, you might not "get it" now, but one day you will.
Best gran advice I have heard: "No one is better than you."
